RESPONSIBILITIES: |
Philadelphia University seeks a full-time, tenure-track faculty member with expertise in composition, rhetoric and professional writing. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching writing, working in an interdisciplinary setting, and will also have a secondary area of expertise including, but not limited to: media/multimedia/visual studies, narrative studies, civic engagement, intercultural communication or cultural studies.
The new hire will teach first-year writing and take a leadership role in the coordination of first-year writing classes as well as other first-year experience opportunities; teach upper-level general education writing courses; and have opportunities to develop undergraduate interdisciplinary curricula in a university that values real-world, integrative, professional education. The standard teaching load is 12 credits per semester, with reductions for administrative responsibilities.
