POSITION VACANCY

 

TITLE OF POSITION:

Faculty, Occupational Therapy Assistant Studies Program

STATUS: Part-time (.6 FTE)

DEPARTMENT:

Continuing and Professional Studies

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Initial and current certification by the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy as an Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapy Assistant; PA license as an Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapy Assistant
  • Five years of experience in occupational therapy including practice as an Occupational Therapist or Occupational Therapy Assistant;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of education, certification, roles and scope of practice of occupational therapy assistants;
  • Documented expertise in at least one of the following clinical areas: pediatrics, behavioral health and physical dysfunction
  • Familiarity with standards for Occupational Therapy Assistant Program as promulgated by ACOTE
  • Excellent communication and organization skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Previous experience in collegiate and/or clinical teaching responsibilities preferred
  • Previous experience with curriculum development preferred

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a health related discipline

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Teach courses in OTA program in specific areas of content expertise using traditional classroom and digital instruction methods.
  • Serve as faculty advisor for OTA students
  • Assist CPS adjunct faculty in select general education course content delivery
  • Support Academic Clinical Education Coordinator as needed
  • Contribute to curriculum and program evaluation and development
  • Assist with acquisition and maintenance of accreditation
  • Assist with the management and implementation of the OTA mentoring program
