Applications are now being accepted for the position of Major Gifts Officer at Philadelphia University.
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Major Gifts and Planned Giving, the Major Gifts Officer actively identifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards a portfolio of prospects, including alumni, parents and friends of the University. The Major Gifts Officer will work with faculty and staff as needed to engage prospects and to develop and implement cultivation and solicitation plans.
Strong candidates will have one to three years of development experience, preferably (but not limited to) higher education. Experience in qualifying prospects and making personal solicitations is desirable. Reflecting the University’s transdisciplinary approach to preparing students for the modern, integrated marketplace, the Major Gifts Officer will be active with a range of constituents and will seek to secure funding at different levels in accordance with where prospects and donors stand within the cultivation continuum.
The candidate who is offered the position will be guided by a philosophy which holds that “fundraising is all about relationships,” and will be adept in building and maintaining both internal and external partnerships.
The successful candidate will be skilled in developing highly customized strategies of prospect and donor engagement, and will craft written proposals and collateral materials that reflect a belief that “every major gift prospect represents a mini-campaign.” |
