POSITION VACANCY

 

TITLE OF POSITION:

Program Director, Occupational Therapy Assistant Program

STATUS: Full-time

DEPARTMENT:

Continuing and Professional Studies

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Initial and current certification by the National Board of Certification in Occupational Therapy as an occupational therapist;
  • Minimum of at least one year of experience in full time academic appointment with teaching responsibilities in addition to at least one year of experience in collegiate teaching responsibilities;
  • Five years of experience in occupational therapy including practice as an occupational therapist;
  • Demonstrated knowledge of education, certification, roles and scope of practice of occupational therapy assistants;
  • Administrative or management experience and familiarity with standards for Occupational  Therapy Assistant Program as promulgated by ACOTE.
  • Demonstrated strengths in curriculum development and excellent communication skills

EDUCATION REQUIRED:

Master's degree (doctoral degree preferred) in Occupational Therapy or related discipline

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage overall administration of the Occupational Therapy Assistant Program, staff and faculty
  • Steer curriculum and program development
  • Develop and implement strategic planning, evaluation and budget
